The
pump station for the East Dillon Water District located at 58 Gray
Fox Lane provides an example of water efficient landscaping. The landscaping
was install in the summer of 1994.
Most
of the area in the two-acre site was left natural. Areas of construction
disturbance were seeded using native grasses. No maintenance or irrigation
is applied to the natural grasses.
The
entrance to the building has formal landscaping including native plants
and trees in areas covered by mulch. These plants are irrigated using
a drip system.
A small
turf area was installed using water efficient sod and irrigation is
provided by an automated system. The landscaping installed
requires limited maintenance and requires low water application.
